Ozimele Development was founded on a simple but powerful idea: that every South African family deserves access to safe, affordable housing. The company was born from the personal experience and conviction of its founder, Lucele Langer, who grew up in Stanger, KwaZulu-Natal, and witnessed first-hand both the strength of community and the deep challenges many families face in finding a decent place to live.
The name “Ozimele” carries the spirit of self-reliance and standing on your own — a reflection of the company’s commitment to building developments of enduring quality that serve communities for generations. As the owner of the land in Shakaskraal, Lucele saw more than open space. She saw possibility: a place where families could put down roots, children could grow up safely, and a community could take shape around shared purpose and dignity.
Today, Ozimele Development is bringing that vision to life through its flagship project — 54 affordable residential units in Shakaskraal, KwaZulu-Natal. But the ambition reaches further. By combining responsible building practices, genuine community participation, and a scalable development model, Ozimele is positioning itself to become a trusted name in affordable housing across the country.
